Much like customers in our stores and clubs, visitors to our Web site want a clean, fast and friendly experience. Most importantly, they want our information to be accurate and easy to find. Over the last year, we’ve talked to many people about our company’s sites – people who write stories about us, invest in us, shop us, want to work for us, and people like us, our associates. They told us we had too many Web sites, that information is hard to find and that it is not always consistent throughout the site. Until now, we lacked one simple, compelling online destination. We listened, and this morning you’ll find that walmartstores.com, walmartfacts.com and walmartfoundation.org have all been consolidated into a one-stop information shop. This will provide visitors to our Web site with a trusted information source and allow us to communicate our messages to the world with a consistent voice. Below are just a few of the changes we made to improve the site to help your company better tell its story about how we save people money so they can live better. Walmartstores.com, walmartfacts.com and walmartfoundation.org have been consolidated into a one-stop shop for customers, investors, journalists, job seekers, and anyone else seeking information about the company. If you have bookmarked any of the three sites, you will be re-directed to the new site. The sites now work in conjunction to give facts and news about your company, as well as to share the many positive things we do in the areas of career opportunities, diversity, sustainability, community, and health and wellness. Our shopping sites, walmart.com and samsclub.com, will remain separate Web sites to offer shoppers the tremendous convenience and value for which Wal-Mart is known.
