Amgen has donated more than $300 worth of jump ropes, hula-hoops and swim suits to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence and Camp Davis.

Bank Rhode Island has provided $30,500 to support 15 organizations focused on youth being cared for in nurturing environments to help them realize the promise of higher education.

Wal-Mart Stores has given nine grants totaling $225,000 to these nonprofit organizations: Save the Bay; Rhode Island Quality Institute; Rhode Island Afterschool Plus Alliance; St. Joseph Hospital; Keep the Heat On; Crossroads; Dorcas Place; Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative and the YMCA. Wal-Mart Foundation has also donated $50,000 to help open a tree house for disabled children in Massachusetts and $25,000 to the State Alliance of Rhode Island YMCAs.

RE/MAX in Rhode Island has donated $4,000 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network. The money was raised during the 22nd Annual RE/MAX Open Golf Tournament at the Exeter Country Club.

Rhode Island Association of Realtors members Steve Antoni, Mike Behm, Jake Burke, Becky Moniz, Mary Moniz, Patricia Robitaille, Paul Santilli, Cathy Shobel and Arthur Yatsko, along with executive vice president Lee Corona, marketing director Kerri Park and Sarah Antoni raised money at the Rhode Island Nation Guard Quonset Point Air Show to bring a Military Child Education Coalition program to Rhode Island.

FM Global has awarded college scholarships of $3,000 each per year to: James C. Ferguson and Stephen P. Ferguson, of Narragansett; Yangyang Guo, Yueyue Guo and Alexander E. Pryor, of Cumberland; and Adam Goudreau, of Burrillville. The company has also donated $2,000 to the Oakland Mapleville Fire Department for pre-fire planning to collect data on local buildings.

The R.I. Society of Certified Public Accountants donated $7,200 from its annual golf tournament to Caritas, a 37-year old nonprofit providing residential and outpatient treatment for teens struggling with alcohol and substance abuse.

Bank of America associates recently volunteered for the 23rd annual International Coast Cleanup in partnership with the Ocean Conservancy and the Audubon Society. They help clean up oSachuset Town Beach (Second Beach) in Middletown.

The Amica Companies Foundation has donated $100,000 in five $20,000 installments to Kent Hospital to support the Heart Center which is under development and has awarded $1,500 to the Rhode Island Blood Center in the name of Ronald Lizotte, who is a cancer survivor and a frequent blood donor.

Amica Mutual Insurance has donated $7,500 to the Rhode Island Military Family Relief Fund on the same day it rededicated a World War II Honor Roll Plaque that was previously installed at the company’s former headquarters in Providence.

Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees Joe, Chris and Cliff Prazeres and Charlie, Adam and Jonathan Coelho have donated $14,000 to the playground committee at Guiteras Elementary School.

Kent Washington Association of Realtors’ 16th annual golf tournament raised $6,600 for the South County Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity of West Bay and Northern Rhode Island.

VR Industries has donated $2,000 worth of printed circuit boards and components to New England Institute of Technology for use in the electronics engineering technology program.

The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, an anti-domestic violence organization, has awarded $20,000 to Sojourner House to support basic services at the shelter for women and children made homeless by domestic violence.

Bristol County Savings Bank of Pawtucket has awarded $2,500 to The Providence Center to support the construction of a new playground.

The Citizens Bank Foundation has given $15,000 to the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre for the production of Don Carlos, Fredrich Schiller’s 1787 work based on Inquisition-era Spain.

Summer Infant was the presenting sponsor for the 2008 Women and Infants Celebrity Luncheon with keynote speaker Sigourney Weaver to raise money for an addition to the hospital, including an 80-bed neonatal intensive care unit.

RI Council 94, AFSCME, AFLCIO presented $10,000 to R.I. Veterans Home residents and hosted a steak fry luncheon for them.

Aetna Mutual Insurance Co. has donated two vehicles to the New England Institute of Technology collision repair department as training aides.

Carey, Richmond & Viking Insurance Agency and the Selective Insurance Co. contributed $1,000 to the Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund administered by the Salvation Army. National Grid matched that donation for a total of $2,000.

Centerville Bank has donated $50,000 to the Kent Hospital capital campaign for its new heart center.

WKKB-Latina has raised $72,600 in cash and pledges from its listeners for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bob’s Discount Furniture had given a $3,000 cultural arts grant to the Kent Heights Elementary School, in East Providence for programs during this school year.

Cox Communications has given $15,000 to 156 nonprofit organizations as part of the Cox Charities Employee Grant Program, an extension of the company’s philanthropic work.

Washington Trust’s Charitable Foundation donating $11, 000 to community groups for the Thanksgiving season and held its annual food drive at all 17 branch locations in Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.

Stop & Shop is seeking to raise $1 million for local hunger-relief organizations through its Food for Friends Program throughout the Northeast. All company stores sold paper turkeys at checkouts for $1, $3 and $5 each.

Citizens Bank will match donations up to $25,000 through Dec. 24 to the Salvation Army “Green” Kettle Campaign, which has specially marked kettles at stores in Bristol, Coventry, Cranston, Johnston, Narragansett, North Kingstown, North Providence, Providence and Quaker Lane and Warwick Avenue in Warwick.

Advanced Solutions for Tomorrow’s entire office will donate gift cards to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

The Inter-Fraternity Council and Panhellenic Association of the University of Rhode Island presented $12,000 to the Johnnycake Center of Peace Dale in honor of retiring URI President Robert Carothers.

The Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island has given $20,000 to the University of Rhode Island to support its College of Business Administration and the university library.
